Lymphoma: Diagnosis and Treatment

Diagnosis

• The evaluation begins with a medical history and a physical examination.
  
• Blood testing will also be performed.
  
• A definitive diagnosis is accomplished by biopsy of a lymph node.
  
• Following the diagnosis, further testing is done to determine the extent of disease. This may include blood testing; CT scans of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis; and bone marrow biopsy.

Treatment

• Radiation and/or chemotherapy are the most common forms of treatment.
  
• Bone marrow transplantation is an option for some patients.
